As a Fine Artist and Architectural Designer
I am interested in and inspired by people and how people create space and place.
At the heart of my practice I am a designer practicing drawing and painting and designing beautiful artwork.
I am an artist and enjoy collaborating with other master-craftsmen/women and designers.
Collaborating with my clients to create beautiful and functional designs is where my passion lies.
I design and I am happy to work with you/my client to create a beautiful space or a painting commissioned by you .

I specialize in the design of all kinds of interior and exterior spaces ..and the architectural design for small buildings.
PAINTINGS and DRAWINGS
I create paintings, murals, textile work and textile prints for fashion and furnishing for interior and consider the exterior design.

Inspiration
I take inspiration for my designs partly from listening to my clients and observing life styles and develop my design work using a process of listening, communication and collaboration with my clients.
By listening to the clients brief,
along side their dreams to enhance their living space .

or by using one of my unique prints on silk or my designs for fabric....

I take on individual design projects and I am happy to consult with the client at various stages throughout their design process or work both as a designer and or artist with your chosen architect /project manager.

Background.
Suzi Macaulay.
Trained as a Fine Artist at the prestigious
Edinburgh College of Art and then went on to study Architectural Design at both eca and the University of Edinburgh.
After studying Architectural Design,I went on to work with
Julian Frostwick of the Gullane based architects practice,
architecturejf.
as a trainee architectural designer .
Artist statement.
I am an artist,architectural designer, illustrator,
a problem solver and a thinker.
I have experience in small building design interior design and concept design
I am captivated with the idea of making everything I do efficient and accessible. But more importantly, I have an absolute unwavering passion for all things creative done professionally and beautifully.
Although I started out in fine art, I have developed a love for designing small building layouts and creating beautiful designs, interior spaces and fine art commissions from murals to commissioned art works .
It's where I learned how to tell a story, how to marry visuals with an intuitive design and creativity
while taking clients along on a journey. More than anything, how to engage my clients in a meaningful dialogue. A dialogue with a very beautiful and positive ending .
COLLABORATIONS
I collaborate at request or design with Master Stone Masons as well as Master Carpenters.These collaborations will bring beauty and honesty of design to your ideas/projects .I will on the clients request consult with highly skilled master builders to enhance the quality and longevity of the space you imagine .
My design projects at times require the skills and knowledge and experience of talented craftsmen /women .Depending on the project and the brief /clients requests.
I consult and collaborate with a few well trusted master-crafts men /women and they in turn bring a high standard to the craftsmanship work and an artisan like quality buildings and new spaces we create.
I choose to collaborate with master masons and master carpenters ,to bring a fine art aspect to my projects .

Biography in Brief
Suzi Macaulay was born in Edinburgh,Scotland.
Studied Drawing and Painting at the prestigious Edinburgh College of Art and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.Then Architectural Design also at eca and Edinburgh University .
She has exhibited extensively and internationally including solo and group exhibitions in Denmark,France,Italy and further afield Varanasi city in the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh,India as well as Hiroshima,Osaka,Kyoto and Toyko Japan.
